Local Taylors Lakes Tree Work

Taylors Lakes features a mix of established residential properties, parks, landscaped gardens, and growing suburban developments where regular tree maintenance is important for safety and presentation. Our team regularly works throughout the area, helping property owners safely manage overgrown, damaged, and unwanted trees.

From pruning mature trees near homes and driveways to clearing storm-damaged branches and grinding old stumps, we provide reliable tree services designed to improve safety, access, and the overall appearance of outdoor spaces.

Some trees in Taylors Lakes may require council approval before removal or major pruning work, and our team can help explain the process where needed.

BOROONDARA COUNCIL PERMITS — HANDLED BY US

Brimbank Council requires permits for significant tree removal. We assess on the site visit and submit applications where required. Note: Taylors Lakes sits in Melbourne’s north-west, so we coordinate scheduling slightly differently from the eastern-suburb run.

Don’t try to navigate the permit process alone. Applications need supporting arborist reports, accurate species identification, and the right justification language. Get it wrong and you wait months for a refusal — or pay a fine for proceeding without approval. We submit the application, supply the arborist report, follow up with the planner, and update you when there’s news.

If Brimbank refuses a permit and the tree genuinely can’t be removed, we discuss the alternatives — pruning, weight reduction, structural cabling. You only pay for the assessment, not the removal.

Sam Tree Services did an excellent job removing a large gum tree in my backyard. The team was professional, efficient, and left no damage. Highly recommend!

Sam and his team were simply fantastic to deal with. We had large mature trees, riddled with rot and termite damage, close to the fence line… not an easy brief. Their work was faultless. The yard was cleared, the small branches and leaf litter gone, remains of the trunks were neatly ready for us to prepare for firewood. Sam’s team swept up our yard, the path, the driveway and sidewalk, even the neighbours yards. A few weeks later, when I called to see if he could remove the stumps, he was back in a flash. I could not have been more pleased with his work. I heartily recommend Sam to anyone looking to work with serious professionals who care about providing a great service.

Very poor experience, no communication, work is half done and they have left, I have not made payment yet, they said they would come by today to clean up, it's 8pm and no message or update. Their personal rubbish has been left behind in my lawn, coffee cups and water bottles, I literally gave they all the hospitality and let them have any drinks in my outdoor fridge and this is how they treat it. They have rummaged through my cricket bag which was in the backyard, my cameras show they playing with my gear. COMPLETELY UNPROFRESSIONAL. Didn't even come on time, I had to call and ask where they are. Quote included removal of all waste, but theres still a heap of logs in the front yard. Cowboy tradies, not real tradies - pay more to get the real deal elsewhere, i wish i did.

COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT TREE WORK

Do I need a Taylors Lake council permit?

In most cases, yes — for any established tree above modest size. We assess permit class during the on-site visit and handle the application if required

Usually within 48 hours of your call during business hours. Often sooner. Emergencies — within 90 minutes during business hours

We work Taylors Lake regularly — we have crews in this corridor most weeks. Same crew, same standard, every job.

Most of the tree work in Taylors Lake involves trees close to structures — that’s the nature of the suburb. Our climbing arborists rope-lower sections of the tree rather than free-dropping anything, and we map drop zones before the saw starts. This is exactly the work we do
